Marrakech

Every day in Morocco is a mini Adventure

This was the first time I’ve ever visited an Arabic country. I’ll be honest its probably my last.

When we arrived our airbnb was in the middle of a local town, it was 1am-110 degrees and the locals were out as if it were 3 in the afternoon. The eyes daggered us as we arrived. Americans! Haha of course this isn’t my first rodeo. As with any new place there are moments of being uncomfortable. However I felt as though my survival instincts turned on and they didn’t turn off until I left Morocco. My experience went like this:

Men.Men.Men. Why so many men?

Wow its overwhelming the amount of testosterone in one street. Men gathering, glaring, pestering.

`don’t fall for their little scams

“That road is closed”- “You are going the wrong way”

Doesn’t matter the age- young and old boys are on this scam. Here’s why: They lead you for an hour through the tight streets bringing you to all their friends shops and haggle you for money. At the end of this shit they ask you for money for getting you exactly back to where you started. Thanks to good old reliable Tiktok I didn’t fall for this- however in the moment you do hesitate because your in a foreign place and most roads/pathways look questionable.

Now this is a funny story (depending on how you look at it)

On my last day in Marrakech it was 115 degrees-I wanted to go swimming but Mother Nature had other plans. Where do you find tampons in this forsaken place?! I wandered through the streets using my handy dandy mapsme(download when in Marrakech) I asked the store owner where I could find “Feminine hygiene products” He yells out for PERIOD?! I sheeply say yes. This way he proceeds into the back corner. Next thing I knew two men were up in my bubble as I looked at the pads. WTH… lol are we not grown. This shit literally happens to ever women on the planet. Obviously I can’t swim with pads so I left and said you don’t have what I need and the shock was louder than than words. I walked back to my hotel trying to process what just happened lol. With determination I secretly pulled a women to the side at the front desk for what I needed. 10 mins later she came to my room with the goods. Like a damn drug deal! Tampons were contraband!

It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
